The Dallas Mavericks franchise will compete in the Western Conference finals without the use of Maxi Kleber for at least the opening game of the series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. FFS this Wednesday (22 May)
Report from ‘Dallas Morning News’ that Kleber has been absent from the field since May 3 because of a right shoulder injury. Up until now, I’ve only practiced separately with a personal trainer, practicing shooting, but haven’t joined the team on separate sides yet.
“That guy is still out of the active group,” head coach Jason Kidd said.
“Looked a little better at Monday’s practice. In running on the track, there probably won’t be another Kleber in the opening game of the series. Then you have to continue practicing like that until you’re ready to come back.”
“But it gives other people an opportunity to step up. And we trust everyone in the locker room to stay united until that guy comes back.”
Kleber played in six 2024 playoff games , averaging 5.7 points , 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in a defensive role. Including long-distance shooting accuracy at 52.4%
