Curry wins award for best late-game striker of the year

Stephen Curry, star guard of the Golden State Warriors, won the title of Player of the Year for the decisive shot at the end of the game of the year for the 2023-24 season, based on raw scores. Not much better than the second place vote.

Curry defeated Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan by just 26 points, followed by Shea Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder in third place. 

The 36-year-old is the athlete who accumulated the most points during the heart-wrenching moments of the game – considering when the final 5 minutes were left in the match, the difference in points between the two teams was no more than 5 points. 

‘Steph”s stats are 189 points from 43 games.

The two-time MVP averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 74 games, unable to help the Warriors survive the play-in tour. Western Conference, lower bracket, when they were eliminated by the Sacramento Kings from the first game. 

The award was first awarded last season to Kings guard De’Aaron Fox , while DeRozan is a nominee for the 2022-23   season.
