Reports: Kings extend contract of coach Mike Brown

Mike Brown has led the Kings to a 94-70 (.573) record in two seasons at the helm.

Coach Mike Brown is reportedly set to stay in Sacramento for a longer run.

Reports emerged late Friday night that the two-time Coach of the Year winner and the Kings agreed on a re-negotiated two-year extension. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was first to deliver the news.

The Kings snapped a league-record playoff drought under Brown in 2023, a campaign that earned him Coach of the Year honors, before reaching the Play-In Tournament after a 46-win showing this season.

Brown’s 94-70 (.573) record with the Kings runs his career mark to 441-286 (.607), including a 50-40 (.556) showing in the postseason, mostly with the first-run LeBron James crew in Cleveland.
